Whale Wave to Young Love~

WhaleWaveToLoveMy latest card, so far (of course, there will be more to come).  Which I made back last month.  My personal favorite of mine, and also is the crowds’ one of favorites.

Now, why is my own favorite of mine, and perhaps my reason why is also why most people like it too.  Well, one, the original piece was a birthday present to the guy in the picture, in fact.

Two: not to brag, or to show off, or anything, but I’m quite happy how it turned out!  The colors, line art, and the couple.  As I’d love to have all of my art pieces good as this one; then again, when I was drawing it, it had to be perfect- or at least, almost perfect. (^~^)

Three: Overall, I think it is because this precious piece is of the thought of picture, and the thought I put into it.  The dedication and hardship for the time I took to do it; happiness and hopes of that he’d like it (he loved it)!

I hope you agree with my reason why I like- ahem, I mean love this masterpiece.  If there’s other reasons you think so too, please feel free to share.  I’d love to know!

Well, thanks for coming by and reading my…love post I guess.  Heh.  Anyways, thanks again.  And see you in the next post!  ~Rahal out

The Path of a Growing Artist

AikidoOfKohala_sml_BAA.jpg

Aloha, everyone, howzit going?

I’m back and with new stories and new artwork!  As you can see, above is my latest card, “Aikido of Kohala Ft. July & Roxanne “Roxi”.

I have recently moved on from chicken art to making characters for my artwork now.  So, let me introduce to my two girls, July and Roxi!

July Jubilee Malara is a serious Aikidoist, and you noticed, she has blue, which is pretty high in the belt ranking in Aikido.  At least, being higher than red belt, which Roxi has.  July is also a detective-in-training, taking after her late mother, Priya.  She’s a real sweetheart, and loyal to those she cares about, and has a serious, but friendly personality.  But you gotta watch out if you make her mad, she’ll glare you down with her ice cold, blue eyes, making you frozen almost!

Then there’s Roxanne “Roxi” Manon Onyx, who’s a young heiress, along with her younger twin brothers, Dominick and Chester, whom she calls them “Domino” and “Chess/Checkers”.  And who has the power to turn into any mythical creatures and such (examples; griffins, the kraken, the dire wolf), and you can probably imagine how powerful she can be with all those forms with their powers.

Roxi isn’t your typical person who’s a heiress, or a bookish type, Roxi has a undoubtedly out-going, almost crazy, and fiercely loyal personality, but is quite intelligent about various things.  So, with Roxi’s wild character and July’s mild-temper, and competitive personality, they balance each other and are absolute best friends!

Soon, you guys will meet a bunch of my other characters in future cards!

And yes, for the past several months, I have been taking Aikido class!  I have gone through so many different groups and activities ever since I moved up here in Hawi over a few years ago; 4-H, volleyball, book club and finally I fell in love with Aikido last year.  And over the past several months I have been practicing, everyone felt like an extended family to me.

Aikido is more of a self-defense martial art, with more of a spiritual practice, than a physical one.  If you want to know more, and if you interested, here’s their website!  http://www.aikidoofkohala.org/

And I’ll see you folks later!  Wild out! ~Rachel

New year, new goals

Hi guys!  Haven’t heard from in a while, huh?  So, how are you all?  Good, hopefully!  I’m doing well, as well as my family and chickens these past months!  I think I should mention that I got 6 more new chickens!  And their names are Honey Bun, Peppermint Pattie, Dandelion, Tourmaline and Obsidian!  I’ll try to upload some pictures of them soon for you guys.

It’s most next year.  I mean next year is just right around the corner!  Hahaha.  Anyway…I been having a idea in my head for a while for the blog.  I was thinking to make reviews of shows and movies.  What do you all think?  Personally, I think it’s pretty good idea, and I know a quite of few 200’s series, like for a example Xiaolin Showdown and Transformers Prime.  So, look out for that!

Okay, now that aside.  To be honest, nothing really, really interesting happened this year except hanging out with my friends at one point and other, and getting the new chickens, and some other things.  You see, I don’t really get out of the house and most of my friends have time to hang out.  So, my mom trying to get me a volunteer job in town.  We’re thinking of the local pet clinic and the wildlife center to try.  We’ll see in the future.

Well, that’s all I can say for now.  So…thanks for coming by and reading this!  See ya later then! ~Rachel

My Latest Activities!

Hi guys!  Rachel here.  Sorry I haven’t uploaded in a while.  I been busy (again) with the chickens, and moving into my new room.  Moving on.

Lately, I have been going to the North Kohala Library (which is only a mile away), and they have been having activities like crafts, lego building, gaming, kendama, and stop-motion making.

Auntie Leilani (she’s the one who, I guess “hosts” the activities) just uploaded the videos we made on that week!   She planned having another stop-motion making next week!  And also here’s the link to our videos!

I’m Back! (with new artworks too!)

Chicken Elementary_sml_BAA

Hey guys!  Sorry I haven’t ‘blogged’ in a while.  My family and I been busy these days (years).

  “Let’s get down to business!”

On my 12th birthday, I got 5 new chickens from my very good friend who owns lots of chickens too .  And they’re 2 blue-laced red Wyandottes, 2 sliver-laced Wyandottes, & 1 Speckled Sussex (I have 12 chickens in all), & their names are Sunflower, Buttercup, Coral, Pepper, & Blueberry.  The next day, Pepper flew the coop & stay there for the rest of the day.  At one point I went to check on her & she wasn’t there anymore!  And she never came back!   (She was one of the sliver-laced.  Poor Coral.)  Now let me show you my new artworks!  The one on the top is ‘Stir-Fry Chicken’.

The Humpback Whales are Back!

Humpback Whale

Ever winter, December to April, Humpback whales come to give birth to their calf’s.  We have lots of whale watching business on the Big Island, and also the other islands.  We also have other kinds of whales here, such as Pilot whales, False Killer whales, Bryde’s whale, and other whales.  I’m going on a Humpback whale watching trip with my friends, Lola, Libby, and their mom, Ashtin!  We are going with other homeschoolers too.

Aloha from Rachel!

My First Commissioned Artwork

I love to draw…especially chickens. My mom and I have been making cards out of our artwork and sharing them at the farmer’s market.

Our friend, Aunty Susan opened a new eating place in Hawi called Sweet Potato Kitchen and Takeout. She asked me to paint some of my chicken art to display at her new place. Here’s the first one and a picture of me with Aunty Susan.

Come over to her place sometime for some good food and to check out my art.
